Saturday Afternoon Pillows

Spending an afternoon sewing feels like one of the best ways to slow down and enjoy myself. I picked up this bolster pillow form at Goodwill for about three bucks, and I had some gold‑and‑green ribboned fabric tucked away in my stash. They seemed like a perfect match. Once I started cutting the bolster pieces, I realized I actually had enough fabric left over to make a pillowcase too — so I went for it. Both projects were genuinely fun. I didn’t use a real pattern; I mostly just eyeballed it and let the fabric tell me what it wanted to be. I used three buttons in a hidden enclosure.

Tie and Dye

This was a fun project. I dyed a bag, and then I thought I would try my hand at white t shirts. I think they turned out pretty cool. These shirts were super affordable at Wal-Mart - $2.00, and the dye was about $3 a bottle. I used 3 colors and mixed them. This was just a fluke that the design turned out so cool.

Finished Ragland Sweater Version 2

This was a lot of fun to make. I love knitting Ragland sweaters in the round because you knit the entire sweater on one circular needle, and you can check the fit as you go. This one I used more scrap yarn which was mostly acrylic with some nylon mixed in. I love the feel and the shape. I made the neck quite a bit smaller to start so that it fits more like a crew neck instead of a wide drop neckline like a lot of Ragland patterns. I casted on 86 stitches for the neck. I added only one stitch in the armpit as I joined the two sides to create the sleeve. I also decreased around the bottom and sleeves before the ribbing to give the sweater some shape oppose to just draping flat. This sweater took me several months to knit, but I enjoyed taking it with me and working on it whenever I had some free time.

Winter at the Beach

It was a sunny, wonderful day in Rockaway a week or so ago. I stayed a couple days. What an amazing time I had with my dog just hanging out. The weather was so warm. You would never know it was December.

My First Mandala Coloring Book on Amazon.

I’m thrilled to say I finally finished this book. I spent part of my summer learning new graphic software, and every single mandala in it was designed by me. I’m already deep into my next book and can’t wait to share that one as well. With each mandala, I picked up a new skill, and the whole experience was such a joy. Buy it here !

Hawaii, Waikiki flashback 2002

I can't believe it's been 24 years since I first went to Hawaii. It's amazing how time flies. Some random woman who came up to me and wanted to take a pictures with me. The jungle. Dole pineapple plantation. It was meh. The drive there was amazing. Me snorkling, but I am fat so I keep floating to the top. Graffiti at the zoo. Pink flamingos as the zoo. Hanauma bay Bay over 20 years ago. It almost looks like a postcard.
