I am pretty excited to take on the Mandolin. I like the sound of it, the sort of Irish Bluegrass sound, deep woods sort of. I like Folk music as well. Thankfully I already know how to read music, it's just learning the notes on this instrument. I've also taken back up the flute which I played in high Jr High. I like the flute, far easier to play than a string instrument in my mind. There's no tuning, but it's all wind and lung power.
Update: after a few weeks of playing the mandolin I decided the flute, the instrument I learned in high school, is a much better fit for me.
