I needed to get out of dodge this weekend, so I got a room in Astoria for the night where I spent most of my time walking along the Astoria River Walking path to Pier 39 Rogue House for some coffee at Coffee Girl, and later stayed at the Norblad Hotel downtown. Between watching the big ships, I got something to eat at the Labor Temple Grill.
Of course, I couldn't leave Astoria without going to God Father's Books where I picked up a copy of Stephen King, The Stand. I haven't read The Stand since it came out in 1978.
All and all a fun day!
